About This Design — Hawaiian Monarch Tribute

The aliʻi — the chiefs and monarchs of Hawaiʻi — stood between their people and the forces that sought to erase them. King Kalākaua brought hula back from suppression and called it beautiful. Queen Liliʻuokalani wrote songs for her people from a prison cell and never stopped fighting for Hawaiʻi. Princess Kaʻiulani walked into the halls of power as a teenager and argued for her nation's sovereignty with grace and courage. This design carries their portraits forward — not as history, but as living memory.
