The Heterocentrotus mamillatus — better known as the slate pencil urchin — is one of the most striking creatures on the Hawaiian reef. Its thick, blunt spines glow in shades of deep red and burgundy, shaped by the ocean into something that looks almost too beautiful to be real. These earrings are crafted from those spines, hand-selected and wire-wrapped into pieces that carry the reef’s energy right to your ears.
