Rooted in the Hunt. Worn with Pride.
Kanaka hahai puaʻa — the people who pursue the pig. A nod to the ancient Hawaiian tradition of pig hunting in the upland forests and the deep connection between the Hawaiian people and the ʻāina.
About This Design — Kanaka Hahai Puaʻa
In the upland forests of Hawaiʻi, the hunt for puaʻa — the pig — was a test of strength, skill, and deep knowledge of the ʻāina. Hawaiian hunters moved through the forest with reverence, knowing the land the way their kūpuna had taught them. The pig was not just food — it was ceremony, it was offering, it was connection to the gods and the earth. This design honors the kāne who knows the forest, the one who moves through it with purpose and returns to the ʻohana with abundance.
